Many tourists have already discovered the special magic, which is only in the autumn of the North Sea. And to all Newbies we give a quick view into “SPO in autumn”.
Whether a holiday, a weekend, a trip to St. Peter-Ording in November is worth it, we do not bother to deal with, as most already know that it is very worth it. In the “biggest sandbox in Germany” a walk in the clear air, evokes the anticipation of warm grog, waffles with hot cherries and sauna. Honestly, just the thought of all that arouses already wanderlust. There is no question. The Nordic sparks jumps over – also in autumn.
Therefore we present a brief overview of the many activities that are possible in SPO – even in October.
1. -2. October – The first October Weekend
On the first weekend in this beautiful month there is already a lot going on. The large fall market in St. Peter-Dorf is enlivened by amateur craftsmen, artisans and farmers market exhibitors. The market now enjoys great popularity among numerous visitors from the vicinity and the tourists in St. Peter Ording. This is because everybody will find something interesting there in very good quality as well. Craft is represented by jewelry, high quality leather work, felt, amber and woodwork. You will also find care products for skin and hair. Is a seabuckthorn liquor a care product for your inside beauty or should it rather be associated with refreshments? Of which there are also lots and lots on this market. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses and sausages from the farms and also something to snack.
From there you can continue your stroll and watch the buggy kiters in the Regatta Open/Masterclass. The 90 best in Germany compete against each other and this breathtaking event is worth having a look at.
Alternatively you and your children could participate in a workshop on the beach. There digged, stamped and carved sand is the center of attention- exactly sand sculptures are built together. In the Sandiek sand sculpture workshop registering for this leisure activity is very simple.
And in the evening you will dance. At Gosh’s. From 21:30. DJ Woschi. I myself was not there yet, but if Gosch is as good at parties as at fish& chips, then I’m going this time.
And all this on 1th October only! But do not put stress on yourself about it, the fall market and the Buggykite Regatta will also be held on Sunday.
Some will be surprised…
… Almost all typical tourist offers are still open in SPO even in October and November. City tours, carriage rides, mudflat walks and exhibitions will be held further on. In addition, there are also events that make sense only in fall. For example, bird migration observation. The flocks of migratory birds draw directly across your heads, cawing. This is the sound of autumn! Or visit one or the other Thanksgiving, which are held in almost all places on the peninsula Eiderstedt.
Sporty SPO is especially attractive when the bather retire.
Buggykite regatta, beach sailing regatta, beginner courses in Cross-skating, horseback riding, yoga, windsurfing and kite buggy riding. The list is long and almost daily you can try something different. Alternatively you can come and relax in the Dunes Spa. Or combine the convenient with the convenient and watch the different sports while you sit on one of the numerous sun terraces of the bars and restaurants and have a cup of traditional black tea. Obviously the terraces will not close in the beginning of fall, but upgraded with cozy blankets.
October in SPO
Autumn is the holiday period for connoisseurs, for nature lovers, but even for active holidaymakers and those seeking relaxation. Do not shy away from the crisp autumn air but trudge along the beach, then the stress of everyday life is suddenly very far away and …
