Let’s be frank. November is November. But that doesn’t mean the weather has to be gray. Especially at the sea, everything is possible weatherwise. The blue sky is just a decent breeze away. To all the North Sea Newbies we give a quick entry into “SPO in autumn”.
Whether a holiday, a weekend or a day in St. Peter-Ording in November is worth a trip, is not to be debated here, as most already know that it is very worth it. In the “biggest sandbox in Germany” a walk in the clear air evokes the anticipation of warm grog, waffles with hot cherries or sauna. Honestly, just the thought of all that arouses already wanderlust. There is no question. The Nordic sparks jumps over – also in autumn.
Therefore we present a brief overview of the many activities that are possible in SPO – even in November.
You have the beach almost by yourself and the full attention of the waiter in every restaurant and prices in all stores that are unthinkable in summer. I love the end of the season.
Peace, clean air and a clear head are definitely included in November. By following these tips you can complement your holiday experience:
More of physical exercise is also possible for non-ice swimmer. For example, Sandra Wagner offers all year round Open Level Yoga courses.
The Reiterhof Immensee offers horseback riding along the 12km long beach. Since all the happiness on the earth can be found on the back of a horse, you could might as well try it.
The Dunes Spa is not closed throughout the cold months and even offers Aqua Fitness. Bathing holiday is possible also in November. 😉
… Almost all typical tourist offers are still open in SPO even in October and November. City tours, carriage rides, mudflat walks and exhibitions will be held further on. In addition, there are also events that make sense only in autumn. For example, bird migration observation. The flocks of migratory birds draw directly across your heads, cawing. This is the sound of autumn! Or take part in one of the many craft courses in Amber Museum, in the gallery “Biller un Boker” and in the “Kerzendiele”. There you are safe from rain and wind and can create jewelry, watercolors and candles yourself.
Warm dressed you can always go outside for a walk, collect shells and stop off at a cozy café to enjoy hot chocolate and warm waffles. But that’s not all.
At the children’s playhouse every Wednesday is games day. Until 16:00 you can flee from bad weather and have fun together. At the same location, small bakery and craft courses are given. Monday to Friday, there is thus always something going on.
Experience pure nature at the farm from Family Groth. A short trip there to marvel on animals is always worthwhile.
